Please have regular mammograms and keep yourselves healthy to continue your own crafty addictions for a long time to come!

As you know I lost my Mother to breast cancer on July 31st.  She was an amazing person and responsible for all my crafty addictions!  She has only been gone for a short while now and although my healing has only just begun, I can only hope that she is healed, happy and with my Father again!  I wanted to take a moment to encourage you all to have regular mammograms and keep yourselves healthy to continue your own crafty addictions for a long time to come!

I also wanted to thank each and every one of you for your kinds words, prayers and just for being there for me... even if you don't know it, by having your blogs for me to visit, your projects for creativity and inspiration, not to mention all the Blog Hops and wonderful giveaways I enter (some I have won... Whoo Hoo!)  and to help me pass the time, but most importantly the wonderful friendships and camaraderie that I have found here in Blogland!  Keep up your much appreciated blogs, your wonderful projects and friendly outreaches to each other!  I hope to be scrapping, sharing and seeing you all soon. Thank you all!

Crafty Hugs,
Pendra

Pendra, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother.
I too, find a lot of comfort here with all my bloggy family and friends. Really helps to take my mind off all my troubles (and there just seem to be more and more lately) :( Oh well, everything does happen for a reason. :)
Thanks for your wonderful comment on my blog, and to answer your flower question: Yes I did make them by hand (except I used my cricut to cut out the flowers) and then used my stylus to breakdown the fibers. It's pretty easy and their are tons of youtube tutorials. One of my fav flower people (that I learned this technique from) is Valita's youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/vadeler?blend=8&ob=5#p/u/41/VTS5d4lIb_8
Be sure to visit her blog too:
http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com/
you will be glad you did. :) She is FABULOUS! :)
Sorry this is so long, but I couldn't respond to you through email. I guess you have yours blocked. :) HUGS! Terri

Pendra, thank you so much for the visit again. It means a lot to me. Because of my health I am not a prolific card maker, but I do try to do at least a couple a month. I wish I could do so much more. If I feel good, I do more, well you get it huh! Have you gotten any cartridges for your cricut? I have a DVD from above rubies, I will send that to you if you would like. It is very basic, so it might help you. Just let me know. email me at craftycards4u2 at yahoo dot com. Have a wonderful day and week-end. Hugs, Pam at http://craftycards4u2.blogspot.com/

Hi Pendra,

Thank you for the sweet compliment on my tray. I know some people think these cards are bad but I can't help myself when I see the art in them, it really is beautiful artwork! I wanted you to know that I will see to it that you are entered into the blog candy so you don't have to worry about checking back at that other blog. I'm not sure why it isn't posted yet but you know how it goes, sometimes things just come up that takes first priority. That's what I'm guessing happened.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Pendra. I'm so sorry that I'm only now getting to your blog. Since adding my blog candy I've been trying to get around everyone's blog to say hi. So sorry to hear about your poor Mammy. And you are so right to be promoting regular mammograms. I'm only 31 and not at the age yet to go for one, I think its every lady over 50 in the UK is sent a letter to have one done. But even encouraging younger women to check regularly for lumps is so important too. Just that simple little task can save so many women's lives. It really is wonderful to see you promoting this very important procedure. And as for the flower making, please do try it out, the thing with flower making is that its very hard to make mistakes as not one flower in nature is perfect or the same. So give it a bash. Im in the process of doing more flower tutorials up so I hope to have more to show soon. If you make some, I'd love to see them. Have a lovely day Pendra and thank you for stopping by my blog. Lee xx

Ps....nope Im not a quilter or seamstress. I just like making flowers. In fact my hubby bought me a sewing machine at Xmas and I just about know how to turn it on. Ive only used it twice and that was only having a go at doing a straight line on a piece of material, lol. Lee xx

Oh Pendra what a beautiful & moving post.
It's true time is a great healer and well done you for helping to raise awareness. I have a strong family history of breast cancer & I had a scare a few years ago but thankfully my lump wasn't malignant, but nobody is ever too young to check themselves. In a way I am lucky as due to my family history my sisters & I are allowed to have mammograms younger than others, I just wish the age limit for mammograms in the UK was lowered for all women.
Take care of yourself hunny

Hi Pendra!

I'm so happy the embossing set arrived and you like it! It is pretty neat, isn't it? I saw on an Archivers email they will be doing a demo class on those, that's how new they are! And thank you much for the sweet compliment on my rossette! I did do an instructional video on how to make them but I am having the hardest time getting the video to download. Wait, correction, my husband is having the hardest time downloading it...for me! lol! I hope all is well with you and this cooler weather isn't causing any problems for you. Let's pray for the snow to hold off.. until March!

Hi Pendra, thanks so much for your lovely comments on my blog.
I do have the larger Magnolia doily die but my advice would be save your money & don't buy it.
There was huge outrage over that die as it was originally advertised as one whole circular die but when it arrived everyone discovered it was only half a die and is a pig to line up. It does line up but is really fiddly, it's best to use masking tape to secure it once you've eventually lined it up, you have to turn it over so you end up with half cut out perfectly and the other half a bit squashed (like the reverse of any die cut if you know what I mean). Lots of people insisted on having their money back & Magnolia weren't at all popular over it. It's a shame it's so fiddly & time consuming to use as it is pretty.
Hope this helps :)
hugs Mandy xx

Hey, Pendra! The rose balls you asked about are super easy to make--it's pretty much the "super easy rose tutorial" on the right side of my blog,

then glue the roses all over a foam ball with Super Tacky Glue!

You know what Pendra, for the roses for the rose balls, I just used pages from a book, and they are thin enough you don't need to moisten them with water like in the tutorial.

But you should make all the roses first, cut them out, and then glue them on the ball--I tried gluing directly to the ball as I made each rose, and it was a big mess!

Okay, you were right--I should just do a tutorial on how to make the balls . . . :)
