Wind Wanted...

Have you ever been sailing along, the wind blowing your sails, carrying you along, pushing you in a forward motion with the horizon just in sight and... the wind just dies, you go stagnate and are just sitting still, not losing sight of the horizon, but not getting any closer either.

Now here is where the wind beneath my sails deserts me...

The front foyer, is the only other area on the main level that has yet to be painted.  I know there is one layer of nasty wallpaper... the yucky brown fern paper.  As I start to tear away at it I am horrified to discover there is another paper underneath, and if that isn't bad enough, I'm two stories up...

Wind wanted...   My sails are flat, the horizon is just in sight, but ever just beyond my reach... as is the top of this ladder!  So I packed it in for the month day and have gone back to "My To Do" pile...

But I'm making headway here, the black frames with the stitchery on the left side are the projects I'm currently working on and it's smooth sailing for now...

Oh dear Pendra! Maybe consider getting in a professional to steam off both layers and repaint. Might be less time consuming and safer. Good luck! x Julie

Pendra, If I lived close, I would be right over there to help you. I can tell you some horror stories of pulling down wall paper, little piece by little piece. This house I am in now was full of it. In a few places I got so frustrated, I just painted right over the old wall paper. ugh! I swore I would never put up wall paper on my own and I haven't. I prefer to paint stencils for some added interest to a wall. Easy to paint over. xo

What a daunting task. Wallpaper removal is something I am more than willing to pay someone else to do. A pro can do it in one day and it would take me a month. Good luck with your project and do be careful on that ladder.

Oh my goodness, I would be terrified that high up, I don't think I could do it! Good luck removing that paper.

Oh my! It is a daunting task! I, once, had to remove a border from around a small room, it was so frustrating that I promised myself never to hang wallpaper, so far I've kept my promise! It's going to be a long process but I know you're a going to fight it to the end! Good luck Pendra!

Oh Pendra - please be careful - that looks so scary to me - up on a ladder at that height?

Hi Pendra, Oh I wish I could help you. What an unpleasant surprise to find the second paper underneath. It's so high up too, be careful working on this.
I hope you get the wind back or at least the wind come by and stripe that paper off the walls. LOL
Be careful.
hugs, Celestina Marie

it is good to step away for a bit, and catch your breath.
working on some small, familiar things is a great idea.

When You are ready, you will be back to full sail ahead.
